Mr Miri 2008

Yesterday was Miri's body building annual event "Mr Miri 2008", the titles are divided into each categories according to the participants weight. I missed out the Junior and master category, due to a last minute meeting in the office. There were a lot familiar body builders who were no stranger to this competition such as the veteran George Polo, Saiful, Hasbollah, Eddie Chan, Lian Tipar, and lots more. Some of the body builders had marvelous body transformation, since the last time I saw them. Joe happens to be the mc for the event, usually is Mr Arn instead he is the organizing chairman for the event.

It was just amazing to this guys competing, after months and months of intensive training and diet. I really must respect for the effort, everyone had a good time there as well. Too bad one of the contestant has to drop out, he had a severe muscle cramp. I really must respect the masters group, the senior citizens still manage to maintain their shape.

The main highlight of the competition was the champion of the champions, each winners from each category will competing for the last title in the show down. There was also a title to be won, which was the best poser. The champion of the champions was won by the one and only Saiful, he also won the best poser too.

The winners from Mr Miri 2008 will be qualified to compete in Mr Sarawak 2008, which is going to be even tougher. I will not be around that time, I will be in Kuching for the 11th rainforest world music festival. *Woot* check out the photos below.

Steambot at sun city

I just got back from dinner with my family tonight, we decided to go out for dinner since it was my pappy's birthday. My parents are sort of a big fan of steambot, if you ask me I just go where they want and believe me I had lots of argument with them when it comes to finding a place to dine.

We decided to try the steambot at suncity, Sun city has lots of choices of food and a bar to enjoy guiness stout and other alcoholic beverages. Some of the food I tried there were not really good, so I am hoping the steambot to be better.

I went for the mixed platter, they all went for the chicken and beef. we added some side orders too, there was four choices of soup available and we all settled for the chicken soup. I was quite surprised that the mix platter turn out to be big, the soup was tasted good. The condiment was really good, it tasted like dried prawns and some mixed herbs.

The damage for 4 person was around RM72, which was pretty reasonable. Do drop by and try it, it is not halal by the way. So happy birthday dad! and don't always be grumpy :P

The Malaysian dream job

Some of you must have read the about the job post by Kenny Sia, it is true that now and days fresh grads are asking for so much that I myself do not even think about asking when looking for a job. I must say that I have been through that process, I am glad that I learned a lot from it too.

Just a couple of days ago I saw this vacancy advertisement on a local newspaper, I saw one very interesting post that caught my immediate attention. This has to be it, the ultimate dream job that everyone has ever thought about. You don't even need to have a degree or a diploma, you don't even need good grades to have it. Now do you have what it takes to have the Malaysian dream job?

So who ever gets the job will have a chance to check out the best bodies? Interesting, you might want to try that job out. Live your life to have the Malaysian dream job, checking people's body out or you might just end up with a job this like.

Miri International Triathlon

Last Saturday the Joe called me up to check out the Miri international triathlon at the marina bay, in fact it is an annual international event drawing participants from Austria, Sweden, Macau, other countries and locally as well. There was 30% increase of participants, which was good.

The participants started off by a long distance swim, then cycle about 20km and lastly the 5 km run and finish off at Parkcity everly hotel. The weather that seems to be very mild, there was no sun and it cloudy. The participants are lucky that the weather is on their side this time, it was merciful to the spectators too.

The first person to reach the finish line was from Austria, then came the Sweden boy. Later on more and more people came back. There was one familiar face there, she's no stranger in the triathlon competitions. She participated locally and abroad for various races, she is Kimberly Yap from Miri.

After the race, me and Joe were inspired by their test of endurance and determination. We might be even enrolling for the iron man race next year, so let's get to training.
