Missed calls

It is usually common to get missed calls on our handphones, missed calls can be anything from an urgent matter to an absolute crap. There can be one thousand and one reasons to a missed call, today Prince Albert is in the toilet. I usually do not get a lot of missed calls, there was eight missed calls on my phone this morning. It was from Rining, getting a missed call from him early in the morning was like a call from a lottery company congratulating you.

Since it was really unusual to get a call from at that time, could it be that Rining was rape by a band of trannies? getting a fat lip from a bunch of ah bengs? having a punctured tyre on his beloved Pajero? or getting into trouble with the authorities?(his parents to be exact) Therefore i was curious to find out and gave him a call

Me: *ring ring*

Rining: er.... helloo?(in a sleepy voice)

Me: ahh what is it?

Rining: mmm.... nothing lah, wanna ask u go eat lunch at 11:30am

Me: O_O!?!?!?!?! ok lah i'll see u later then

That was really unexpected, i wonder is he actually feeling alright? LOL

I Love shoes!

Shoes are my passion, why is that? there is no accurate answer to the question asked. It is very much like fans camping during night time at old trafford for the best seat of the match or a Limp Bizkit concert, it's the fan's passion football or a rock concert. My passion for shoes are very much like a football player's passion for the game, who is counting? i am counting and there's room for more.

I managed to win a bid on ebay for a pair of Nike SB dunk, the shipping really costed me a bomb. It's not the latest pair of dunk, but it's one of the pair that i have been looking for quite some times.

Another pair of shoes added to the collection, I'm off to hunt for the next pair of shoes. Having so much shoes made my mom questioned me about it and i gave her the reasons that they're limited editions.

Guess who?

Raya visiting are fun and it can be tiring too, the curries, rendangs, Lemangs, was all good. Too bad all the houses I visited had no satays, I was craving for them. After visiting two houses, I am already feeling bloated up, but it was all good. It was a good festive season this year and now I cannot wait till Christmas, now if only someone can get me a mistletoe before Christmas.

Guess who is that in the photo below.

Happy Deeparaya!

First of all, i would like like to wish those celebrating this up coming festive season a "Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri dan Hari Deepavali". It is good to see that people are rushing to the malls and the smile on their faces of the festive season mood, i also want to wish friends in overseas Selamat Hari Raya to Hezekiel, Wan, Nariza, Effy, and Olga. Drive safe if you are going back to kampung and have a happy holiday.

Now i can't wait to go Ilyas's house, since he mention that there's going to be satays, rendang and curry.

Fried Udon

I awanted to cooked fried kueh teow for lunch today, sad to say that the supermarket has run out of kueh teow when i went to shop for groceries. Instead of not having kueh teow, i just substitute it with udon. Today's menu for my lunch is Fried udon, all you need is two packets of udon, 6 prawns, some pork or chicken, spring onions, 1 garlic, 2 red shallots, 1 egg, some black soy sauce, 1 tea spoon of chicken stock and bean sprouts.

Hawaiian chocolate

I bought some chocolate from the Kuching airport before my flight back here, The chocolate shop sells varieties of imported chocolate which nearly burnt a hole in my wallet if i do not control my crave for chocolate.

Here's the Hawaiin host with macadamia nuts, RM 4.90 for two in a packet. Now that is expensive for a packet of chocolates, you can find out more at www.hawaiianhost.com.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

The moment you open it, the aroma of macadamia nut is lovely. soft on the outside and crunchy on the inside, i am not a big fan of nuts but this is one good nut. Simply scrumptious but expensive and it can't be purchase at the retail outlets, if you have a sweet tooth or you love chocolates like me. I found that macadamia nut is actually from Australia and the chocolate is manufactured in Hawaii? maybe Hawaii planted their own nuts there.

Lok Thian Restaurant

Lok thian restaurant is very well known in Kuching city, it's a three storey high building located at the padungan area i think? Correct me if I am wrong on the location. Lok thian consist of a Thai restaurant on the ground floor, Lok Thian Restaurant itself on the first floor and Shanghai or Beijing restaurant on the second floor I think. I have no idea why would they add another floor of Chinese restaurant when you already have one, probably they are serving authentic mainland China's dish?

It was another dinner for the Yeo family members before everyone departs to their each respective home, while waiting for the food to arrive I took photographs of my cousins and my brother. I think most of don't know that I have an elder brother, you shall a photo of him below.

First dish of the night, fried mee suah. The thing that I liked about the mee suah was, they added mushrooms to it and it brings in aroma.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

The oyster pancake or oh jian, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was a delicious, the flavor and the aroma was heavenly. Speaking about oh jian, it reminded me of the post xes made about the oh jian.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

The third dish, grilled barramundi fish. Sprinkled with lots of fried garlic and properly charred, this is absolutely wonderful. All you get is the natural flavor of the fish, because they did not put much salt in it.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Shark's fin soup is the fourth dish and I cannot help myself for not feeling guilty about this, but it was so irresistible. Sorry WWF, it was so good that I cannot help myself for not eating it. Next time I will try and not order shark's fin soup.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

My favorite dish has been served, it's pork. The fried pork ribs was luscious, tender and juicy. Very well done, now it I feel having some pork ribs already after seeing the photo.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Next dish, is the black pepper tofu. I didn't really like this one though, it was not my cup of tea. It is something for me, since I never tried black pepper with tofu. It's alright and cousin Moses liked it, he finished the whole thing up.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Last dish, yam basket. By the time they served the last dish, our stomach are already bloating up with the previous dishes. It's my first time seeing French fries been added to a Chinese dish, I thought it was fusion and very creative.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

The verdict of lok Thian restaurant, the food was very good except for the black pepper tofu. Presentation and decoration was good too, recommended by me if you drop by at Kuching, it is not hard to find since it very well known in Kuching. I wished that I have more time to explore the culinary treasures of Kuching, but time was the thing that I do not have. Maybe next time then.

p/s:ah yang this specially posted for you, enjoy :)

Pete's Special Kuching

When i was at Kuching attending my cousin's wedding, my uncle Ricky invited the Yeo family members for a dinner at Pete's Special. Kuching is known for the culinary specialties, so i am expecting something special since the proprietor name it Pete's Special. Pete's special is located some where at King's center, it should not be a problem for Kuchingites to spot the place or if you're not from there you can always get an instruction on how to get there.

I like the concept of the restaurant, simple and yet nice. I noticed something tiny red and green on the table, It was chili padis and it is the smallest chili padis i have ever seen, now that is something special.

While waiting for the food to be served, all the relatives get the time to have a little chit chat.

The First dish, Steamed Pomfret fish. The taste of the fish was great, it wasn't too salty or too soft or too hard. everything was just right.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

The second dish is the dish where everyone has been anticipating for, the suckling pig. The is one of the most superb suckling pig i have eaten. The skin is crispy and the meat is juicy. This is absolutely recommended by me if you decided to go there.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

The third dish is just simply creative, i have never thought that you can actually incorporate pork and prawns. Barbeque fresh water prawns with bacon wrappings, the food is getting more interesting each time they are served on the table. This is lucious i tell you.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

When i saw the fourth dish being served on the table, i thought that it was just ordinary steamed chicken that you can eat from chicken rice stalls. I have made a mistake until i took a bite, it is drunken chicken. The steamed chicken was soaked with Chinese rice wine and it was fabulous, especially for alcohol lovers. Not recommended for kids or people who doesn't like wine, the proprietor has named his establishment with the corret name.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

The food may make the restaurant sound so good, however there are a couple of things that i did not like. It took the waitresses more than 45 minutes to get our drinks ready, the workers there are not properly trained and they don't really have a clue on their job, the tend to get the orders and other things mixed up. I really liked the food there and it is really something special and unique, we ended dinner there with lots of red wine, cheers guys!

The 525i experience

This is probably one of the best moment i had during my trip at Kuching last weekend, it is like a fantasy becoming reality for every car freaks like me to drive a spanking good car. The opportunity was there for me, Alveen managed to get the BMW 525i for as his wedding ride. The BMW 525i is definitely a very good car, made with the best technology from Germany.

It was after Alveen & Lynn's wedding, we decided to take this beamer for a spin on Kuching's highway before returning it to the dealer. This car performance was simply amazing, with a sophisticated car computer on board controlling the systems. Huge 18 inch wheels, equipped with HID lamps for a cat's eye view during a night drive. The car's transmissions system comes with a triptonic system for the formula - 1 experience, and an overdrive mode for a good adrenaline rush experience. A front rear and back rear sensor for dummies who have problem parking a car, smooth black leather seats for an elegance look and comfort.

The 525i can go easily from 0-60km/h within a few seconds only(i cannot remember the exact time), cruising along the Kuching highway on 160km/h carrying 5 passengers with superb stability and power was fantatstic. We wish there was more straight road for us to cruise on and put the car to the test, no wonder BBC top gear's host Jeremy Clarkson gave good reviews on German made cars. I could not agree more with their selection and reviews on the BMW, however there are a couple of things we don't like. The car comes at a price of RM500++ grand with tax, the cost maintainence itself will send your bills sky high, an extreme fuel consumption car and extremely expensive petrol expenses required. However it is a very good car to own, despite the disadvantages.

The second time

This is the second time that my compact digital camera has broke down, the first it broke down was Chinese new year this year. I spent about RM300++ changing the damaged shutter when it first broke down, and it is not cheap to repair a broken digital camera. I belive the shutter is busted again, when i was at Kuching. I wanted to take photos with it when i was trying the gelatos at scoops, that is when i found out the shutter was busted already. At first i tried taking photos, the photos turned out looking like an ultra scan picture of a fetus from a pregnant lady and the next thing you know it is totally knocked out.

Why am i blabbering so much about it? because it was the camera the i relied on and it is the camera that have brought so much memories and good times before i got the DLSR. Not only that, it was a special gift from my dad and i really treasure gifts from my immediate family members. I shall visit Uncle Loi tomorrow and see what does he have to say and be prepare to spend another few hundred Ringgit to salvage it.

Alveen & Lynn

I am back from Kuching, which makes me feel like my vacation was too short. The trip was great, it was also a small gathering for all the Yeo family members who attended my cousin's wedding. Through out the whole trip, it was all about food and some alcohol too. Each time i attend the Yeo family gathering, it is nothing but eat, eat, eat, no doubt i had a really good time there. It's not that often i get to see them, so it was a good opportunity after all.

The Wedding took place at Saint Faith Church and the dinner was held at Mango Tree restaurant. In typical Chinese wedding it's always Chinese dinner, but this one is different and it was Thai food. It was something very unique, There are too many photos to show you guys, i decided to put it up on a slideshow and it's convinient as well.

More threads on Kuching coming soon, now i am in extreme fatique and need lots of sleep and congratulation my Cousin Alveen.
